MISSION PROJECT CONTINUES - Bring your crochet/knitting needles! Due to an enthusiastic fun knitting and crocheting group we will be continuing our mission project on a monthly basis. A group of 20 (!) met on our first day to learn (literally) the ins and outs of how to make baby caps that will be sent to developing countries. Thank you, Elaine Garlick and others of expertise. After a second week of fun together, the continuation plans were in progress. So, for now we will plan to meet once each month. Next group meeting: Sunday, February 4 at 3:00 PM. If you are interested in learning, please come join us. Teachers are available. Just remember to bring your needles (G or H crochet hook and size 6 knitting needles) and 3-ply baby yarn. * Our mission is to send these through our PC(USA) partner organization to countries where they lack important and necessary resources. The startling statistic is that millions of infants worldwide die in their first month of life because they lack simple things that could save their life – things like sterile instruments to cut the umbilical cord, and caps to keep them warm.
